Joseph R. Lewis is a double bassist with a day job as a senior technical writer for Google. Mr. Lewis has a master of music degree from New England Conservatory, and a master of science degree from the University of Denver. He has performed with orchestras and ensembles across North America and Europe, with artists such as Seiji Ozawa, Michael Tilson Thomas, Simon Rattle, Benjamin Zander, Dave Brubeck, and the San Francisco Symphony. Mr. Lewis' instructors have included Stephen Tramontozzi, Donald Palma, Lawrence Wolfe, Curtis Burris, and Cindy Browne. His specialties include orchestral and chamber music performance, exploration of solo repertoire, instruction and preparation of students for youth orchestra and college admission, and the application of musical discipline towards academic and professional achievement.
